At least he wasn’t littering.
A man in Marlow, England, has been fined and had his license docked by the police for driving with a “dangerous” amount of fast-food wrappers and sundry trash in his car.
He was so inundated, police say, there was even “rubbish under [the] floor pedals,” potentially obstructing the cars braking function.
The man was pulled over — and eventually arrested — by the Thames Valley Roads Policing Unit for reasons that were not shared by authorities, but quickly learned there was a much more alarming issue at hand.
After documenting the trash heap, cops tweeted a photo captioned: “A tidy cab = A tidy mind.”
In the image, McDonald’s wrappers and cups, Styrofoam containers, receipts, documents and various other indiscernible pieces of garbage can be seen spilling out of the driver’s side cab, on the dash and behind the driver pedals, so it’s probably safe to assume his messy habit has spread to the passenger and back seats.
One Twitter user, who shared a zoomed-in section of the police image, pointed out an apparent tree branch among the pile: “I’m here to find out why the twig was there in the first place.”
Others are defending the driver — in a way.
“But not littering, so there is a silver lining to this messy cloud 😄 @KeepBritainTidy,” says @PS_Schofield.
Given the evidence, there’s no telling what lurks in that trunk.
